Applying sealant properly

To apply the sealant, attach masking tape to the area to provide a straight edge. Most silicone sealant is delivered via a caulking gun. Always ensure you move the gun along the line gently and thoroughly. If you do not have a sealant applicator, your finger will suffice to press down and secure the sealant. Cleaning sealant

Over time, sealant can become blackened with accumulated dirt and mould. It may take several pieces to cover its full length. Leave for a day before removing. The process may need repeating for particularly serious stains. Replacing sealant

When the sealant becomes too worn, it may need replacing. New sealant will bring a fresh, white look to your bathroom. Cut into the old sealant with a Stanley knife, then scrape the remnants out with a flat-headed screwdriver. Any leftover sealant can be rolled out with your fingers or by scrubbing with a cloth and white spirit. Fully clean the area, then apply new sealant in the usual way.
