Avoid These Common Picnic Disasters

A picnic is a favourite summer activity. A picnic is about more than just eating – it is about spending time with nature, having fun with friends or family, and being able to enjoy simple activities, like flying a kite, paddling in a stream or playing some games like rounders or cricket.

Of course the food is a big part of it too, and there are plenty of things that go down well at a picnic, from homemade sandwiches to ready made treats from somewhere like this afternoon tea box delivery company https://www.afternoonteabox.com

A big part of getting maximum enjoyment from your picnic is being prepared for everything that might happen – here are some of the things to watch out for if you are off for a picnic this summer…

Insects – When you are out in the countryside, there are inevitably going to be all sorts of bugs. Some are of course going to be interested in your picnic! Wasps and ants are the main ones to watch out for – make sure that you keep food covered or even better in airtight containers to prevent attracting them!

The Weather – The British weather is often far from predictable – and it pays off to be prepared for anything! If it gets gusty, make sure that you have weights to hold things down, make sure that you pack suncream if it’s hot and sunny, and also ensure that you take umbrellas in case you get rain!

Food Disasters – You might have spent ages preparing the perfect picnic, but if you haven’t packed it well, you might get there to find a mess! Make sure that you pack everything carefully and remember to take a spare bag for rubbish to take home.
