This impressive monument was constructed in 1912 to commemorate the victory of the Scots over the Vikings in the Battle of Largs of 1263. In fact, history buffs will love the amount of Viking history in this part of the world. There are annual Viking festivals and exciting battle reenactments. Not too far from the town lies the Kelburn Castle and grounds, a 13th century castle which has been decorated by Brazilian graffiti artists!
