Top Modifications For Your Boat

If you have been wondering what to start with when it comes to modifying your new boat or you have been scouring the internet for discount boat parts ever since, then you have come to the right place. Many boat owners are unaware that there are plenty of cheap and easy ways to make your ride more enjoyable, thus getting you more bang for your buck.

Here are the top modifications you need to know for upgrading your boat.

Water-Skiing Upgrade

If you plan on using your boat for towing innertubes, skiers, or wakeboarders, look no further than an after-market wakeboard tower. Some towers will universally fit almost any boat and can add board and speaker storage to the already cramped space. If done well, it will enhance the look and value of the boat and give you more versatility in towing options.

Camping Addition

A camping cover that goes over the entire boat is one of the best things you can add to your boat that will make it a more versatile piece of equipment. If you already have the wakeboard tower, you can find covers to match your boat that will drape over the entire area, making a tent on the water. Just don’t try to light any campfires!

Good Cooler

While it’s often overlooked, boating with a cooler can make a huge difference in the quality of any outing. Consider obtaining a cooler with an easy-to-use drain plug, so that you can dump the ice directly overboard. Getting one that is lightweight but that can hold plenty of food and drinks for a day or two is the best way to go when it comes to boating.

Now that you have these 3 tips in your back pocket, you’ll be more prepared before you head out and hit the water with your new boat.

Tips for Scrapping Your Old Car

If you have ever had a broken-down car that is not worth fixing, you know the challenges of getting rid of old cars. Sometimes, you can sell them to mechanics or others who want to rebuild them for a few dollars, but typically, you will sell them to scrapyards. Before you search “scrap cars Morris County NJ,” there are a few things you should know about scrapping cars.

Paperwork

Make sure your title and other paperwork are in order. You will need a clean title. You may also be required to inform the DMV that you are scrapping the car so the registration can be adjusted.

Car Preparation

Before you start calling junk yards or scrap companies, you need to prepare your vehicle. First, remove anything personal from the vehicle. Throw away all the trash. Remove everything that is not part of the car, and look in unusual or unlikely places, such as under floor mats and seats and above your visors. Don’t forget to remove any CDs from your stereo system and paperwork from your glove box. Siphon the gas from your tank and drain the other fluids in the car. Don’t forget to remove your license plates.

Removing Parts

If you have the time and want to make more money, consider removing anything of value. However, don’t remove anything after you have made a deal with the scrap yard or you may void your deal. Scrap value is based on weight. Therefore, expensive upgrades, such as stereos, can be removed and resold at a much higher price. You can remove anything that is not made of metal. However, be sure to research what parts are worth enough money to remove. Also, check your car’s statistics, such as how many were made and how long the same model was made, to ensure it is worth keeping parts.

If you are trying to get rid of an old vehicle, consider contacting a reputable junkyard or scrapyard.

How To Finance Vital Business Equipment

When it comes to the core equipment your business needs to do its work, there’s no making do with another option until you raise funds because your operation grinds to a halt if it doesn’t have the tools needed to finish each job. It doesn’t matter if you’re providing a service, building consumer goods, or supplying parts to another business, there are just some tools you absolutely need. When one of them breaks down, finding fast financing is the key to getting back on track, so the options that serve you well as a startup wind up not being that great for short-term equipment demand.

Gadling’s Top Five Most Photogenic Places in the US

Here at Gadling, we love photography. We have a Gadling Flickr group to which over 60 photographers from around the world regularly contribute, and from which we regularly pull our Photo of the Day. But today we were thinking about the places to go in the US where the best pictures can be had by a mere point and click, the places that are so lovely and photogenic that anyone can take killer pics there, and where the best photographers can make a career.

So after extensive research and deliberation, here’s the list:

1. Southern Utah: with more National Parks in the region than any place on earth, Southern Utah is a shutterbug’’s wet dream. Here are the parks where you can shoot away and fill up that 1 Gb Flash card in a few hours: Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Capitol Reef National Park.

2. Yellowstone National Park: thanks to Teddy Roosevelt for having the foresight and gumption to create this national park that is the jewel in the crown of the Park Service and easily one of the best places to shoot in the world.

3. Big Sur: for photos of the Pacific Ocean and poster-quality shots of where sea and land meet in the most glorious way, you can’t beat this stretch off the California coastline.

4. The Maine Coast: we can’t give props to the Pacific without including her photogenic sister, the Atlantic, and when you’re looking for rocky coastlines and iridescent lighthouses, well, there’s no place like Maine.

5. New York City: while the US is loaded with places of breath-taking natural beauty, you have to admit that man has done a pretty fine job creating gorgeous and intriguing landscapes out of the cities he’s built for himself. Apologies to folks from other cities who might find my selection New York as the best city to photograph a bit self-centered, but I’ve been to most of our major cities, and New York is (as Frank used to say) the king of the hill, top of the heap.

How To Stand Out To Top Staffing Agencies

It can be difficult finding a job that suits your skillset, especially during an economic downturn. There’s no shame in asking for a little help along your career path, and that’s what Boston staffing agencies are here for. If you’re a small fish swimming in a big pond, then you’ll want to explore every nook and cranny for an opportunity.

Partnering with the right staffing agency can make all the difference in your job hunt, so make sure to present yourself as an attractive hire. Here are a few traits you should have to make yourself stand out to top staffing agencies.

Have the Hard Skills

Staffing agencies will help you find a job, but they need to have an idea of what kind of employee they’re dealing with. You need to have the kind of experience that makes you a great candidate for the types of positions they offer. Once you research a good agency to reach out to, tailor your resume with appropriate experiences. Clarify who you are and what you’ve done, and agencies will know what companies they can match you with.

The last thing you want to do is walk in and say, “I want a job.” This reveals that you know nothing about the agency, and it comes across as a little desperate. A good staffing agency will only work with someone with clear goals in mind, so think things through before reaching out.

Show the Soft Skills

Even if you have the experience, staffing agencies also need to see the intangibles of a good worker. Do you have the communication skills to clearly express your main points in a conversation? Do you have the teamwork skills to navigate relationships with others? Do you have the time management skills to make your interview?

You should be putting your soft skills on display to an agency in the early stages. Once they see you’re a true professional, they’ll invest their time in you.

Craft yourself as the right fit for any top-tier company, and staffing agencies will be willing to help you reach your career destination.
