In the first trimester of pregnancy:

In the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, a pregnant woman should be alert to the following warning signs:

  • Constant fever.
  • Severe and continuous abdominal pain.
  • Frequent headaches, blurred vision.
  • Bleeding brown or red, accompanied by pain in the abdomen and colic.
  • Abundant vomiting.
  • Colic or “low pain”.
  • Burning to urinate or bad odors in the urine.

During the first weeks of pregnancy, the most frequent diseases are Threat of abortion, the presence of ectopic or extrauterine pregnancy, urinary tract infections, dehydration, premature labor and the presence of viruses that can affect the growth and development of the fetus.

In the second trimester of pregnancy:

During month four, five and six of pregnancy, consult a specialist if you present:

  • Heavy and frequent cramps.
  • “Low” pain.
  • Burning to urinate or bad smell in the urine.
  • A headache (sensation of having “lights in the eyes”) or of “whistles” in the ears.
  • Pain in the “mouth of the stomach” that does not improve with antacids or when eating.
  • Dawn with face or hands and/or swollen feet.

The main risks at this stage are premature birth, toxemia, anemia, infections, among others.

In the third quarter

In the last stage of pregnancy, it is necessary to continue to monitor any suspicious symptoms in a woman’s health. The most common warning signs in the third trimester of pregnancy are:

  • Bleeding or discharge of fluids through the vagina.
  • Have contractions well before the delivery date.
  • No contractions after the 40th week of pregnancy.
  • Decreased fetal movements.

At the end of pregnancy, the diseases associated with these warning signs are premature delivery, preeclampsia, fetal death, and dehydration.
