For those who are looking for a natural and inexpensive  alternative for their skincare regime here is a simple and effective essential  oil based skincare regime.
When used at night essential oils are particularly effective,  because of the increased blood flow to the face that occurs from lying  horizontally, allowing a more thorough absorption of the essential oils.

To gain maximum benefit you will need to first ascertain your  skin type from the list below;

Skin Types

Normal - smooth clear  and supple in appearance, fine-textured

Dry - dull texture,  dehydrated, tendency to tighten in wind or warm weather

Mature - evidence  of expression lines and slackness around the eyes and mouth, less elasticity

Oily - shiny,  obviously large pores, a tendency to blemish

Combination -  greasy path in the forehead, nose and chin, dry cheek areas

Sensitive - often  pale, sensitive to sunlight and cosmetics, tendency to allergic reactions

Cleansing

By far the best all-round oil for cleansing is Jojoba oil, a liquid wax  derived from the Jojoba bean. Very similar to the skins own natural oils this  wax, literally dissolves the dirt out of the pores. An excellent conditioner  for all skin types, even greasy skin can benefit

Method

Apply a small amount of blend on a cotton wool pad, a little  of the blend goes a long way
Tip; using the blend before you bathe will allow your pores  to further open before you use your toner.

The Blend Ingredients

Choose your skin type and add one of the following recipes  to 20ml of Jojoba oil:

Normal - Dry - Mature  Skin: 2 drops frankincense oil, 4 drops sandal wood oil, 4 drops orange  oil.

Oily - Combination Skin: 2 drops juniper oil, 3 drops cypress oil, 5 drops lemon oil.

Sensitive Skin (Half  the proportion):  2 drops roman camomile  oil, 3 drops lavender oil.

Storage Tip; Blends  should be used within 4 week they can be stored at room temperature, or kept in the fridge in a sealed box to  prevent tainting fridge contents (they last longer refrigerated)

Toning
Most good pharmacists, drug stores and essential oil  suppliers, will stock floral waters. These are the by-product of the essential  oil distillation process, making them ideally suited for use as toners.

Method
Use a small amount on a cotton wool pad to freshen the skin  before applying your moisturising blend.

Recommended Flower  Waters

Normal - Dry - Mature Skin: pure rose water or pure neroli water.

Oily - Combination Skin: pure lavender water.

Sensitive Skin: pure  camomile water or pure rose water

Storage tip: Floral  waters will last up to 6 months when kept in the fridge in a sealed box to  prevent tainting other contents in the fridge.

Moisturising

Best done at the  night time for maximum benefit

Method

Massage a small amount of your blend into face for approx 10  minutes, use upward strokes on your cheeks and small circular motions around  the eye sockets and over your forehead. Being  careful not to wipe the blend into your eyes.
